Free 3D Model Viewer, Right in Your Browser

Open a 3D model and look at it properly: rotate it, section it, measure it, and share it. Completely free, nothing to install, no watermarks, no account needed to view. Works the same on your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.

Drag your file onto the viewer and you’re looking at it.

No signup, no trial clock, no “export disabled” tricks. Just open the model.

A real viewer, not a preview widget

Plenty of sites will render a thumbnail of a 3D file. This is different: a full working viewer with the tools people actually need to answer questions about a part. Take true measurements in inches or millimeters, and keep several on screen at once. Slice through the model with a section plane to see inside it. Open a multi-part assembly and show, hide, or isolate every component from the part list. Color models display in full color, the way the designer built them.

Nothing uploads just to view, either. Your file is parsed by a CAD engine running inside your own browser, so looking at a model never sends it to our servers. It only leaves your machine if you choose to save or share it.

Built for sharing, free for everyone you send it to

With a free account you can save models, pin notes to exact spots on the geometry, attach the PDF drawings and documents that go with the part, and share the whole package with one link. The person on the other end opens it in their browser, sees your measurements and notes exactly as you staged them, and never pays a dime. They can even download the original file when you allow it.

Why is it free?

Because we’re a fabrication shop, not a software company. STEPFILE.com is built and owned by Texas Metal Works, and we made it for our own laser, press brake, and fab teams before deciding it was too good to keep to ourselves. Free, as in beer. Optional paid plans exist only to cover what the service costs to run. There’s no venture capital and no giant corporation behind it, just a shop that built something useful.
