The format that won’t die, handled properly

IGES moved CAD geometry between systems for decades before STEP took over, and files in it are still everywhere: legacy part libraries, long-running defense and aerospace programs, tooling archives, old customer folders. The trouble is that modern workflows rarely include a convenient way to just look at one. This viewer opens IGES with real surface geometry, so you can rotate the part, section it, isolate components, and measure actual dimensions in inches or millimeters instead of guessing from a screenshot someone took in 2009.

Get it in front of someone who can answer

Save the model free, pin your questions to the exact faces and edges they’re about, attach the old drawing PDF if you have one, and share a single link. The recipient sees the part with your notes staged, discusses it right on the model, and pays nothing. If you allow downloads, they can pull the original file too.

Free, from people who use it daily

Built and owned by Texas Metal Works, a fabrication shop in Conroe, Texas, for its own engineers and floor teams, then shared with everyone. Free as in beer; optional paid plans just keep the servers paid for. Here’s the story.
