Your Account: The Recycle Bin
Deleting a model or folder from your list does not erase it. It moves to the Recycle Bin at the foot of the list. Click it to open or close the list. Binned items still count toward your storage.
Step by Step: Get Back Something You Deleted
- Open Your models on your account page, or File, Manage files.
- Scroll to the foot and click Recycle Bin to open it.
- Find the model. Each row shows how many days are left.
- Click Restore. The model returns to your list.
- If its folder was deleted, the folder is made again. If the name is taken, the restored copy gets " (restored)" added.
Step by Step: Empty the Bin to Free Space
- Open the Recycle Bin.
- To remove one item for good, click Delete forever on its row.
- To remove everything, click Empty Recycle Bin.
- Removed items cannot be brought back, and your storage count drops.
How Long Items Stay
Items stay in the Recycle Bin for 30 days. Each row shows how many days are left. After that they are removed for good, so restore what you want to keep before then.
Shares While Binned
A share link for a binned model pauses. Visitors see that the sender moved it to their Recycle Bin. Restoring the model brings the link back.
Versions
You can delete one version of a model instead of the whole model. When you delete a model that has versions, a chooser asks which to delete. Deleted versions go to the same bin. See Your Account: Versions and Attachments.
AI Assistants
A connected AI assistant can move models to the Recycle Bin and restore them, if you allowed it. It can never delete for good. See Connecting an AI Assistant.
Tips and Common Problems
- My storage is still full. Binned items count. Empty the bin.
- A shared link says the sender moved it to the Recycle Bin. Restore the model and the link works again.
- An item is gone from the bin. It was there for 30 days and was removed for good. Items cannot be restored after that.
