Your Account: Versions and Attachments
Versions
A model can keep older versions so you can go back. The number kept depends on your plan. When the history is full, the oldest kept version is dropped.
- File, Versions, Upload a new version opens a dialog. It has the locked model name, a Version label (anything you like) and the new model file.
- File, Create new version (keep the old one) saves a snapshot of what you are modeling now. It shows only while modeling is open.
- Pick any version from File, Versions or the Files panel to view it. An older version is read-only.
- In your account list, right-click a model and choose Open version.
A version added by a connected AI assistant carries an "Added by AI" tag. Only you see it.
Attachments
Open File, Attachments (or the Files panel on the right rail) to add drawings, documents and photos to a model. A share can include or hide attachments with its Attachments switch. CSV, TSV and XLSX attachments open as a read-only table.
Adding Documents
At the bottom of the Documents panel (you must own the model and it must be saved to your account):
- Press Open... and pick one or more files, or drag files from your computer onto the dashed Drop files here to attach them area. You can also click that area, or press Enter on it, to choose files.
- Each file goes up one at a time, and a line under the area shows what is happening to each: waiting, uploading, attached, or refused with the reason.
- When they are all done a summary says how many were attached and how many were refused. The ones that worked stay attached, whatever happened to the others.
Every file passes the same checks as before: your plan's file size limit, the file types the site accepts (PDFs, pictures, CSV, XLSX, DOCX and the CAD formats the viewer opens), your storage and the number of documents your plan allows on one model. Once a model reaches that number, the rest of the batch is refused with that reason. While files are going up, Open... and the drop area are switched off, and a Cancel button stops the batch after the file that is going up now; the rest are listed as stopped.
- Up to 20 files are taken at a time. If you drop more, the first 20 go up and the panel names how many were left out so you can drop those again.
- An empty file is refused. A folder is refused (drop the files inside it instead).
- Two files with the same name are both kept, and both are listed under that same name.
The Buttons on Each Document
Each document shows its file type, its name and up to three small icon buttons. Hover over one to see what it does, and hover over the name to see the whole name and the size:
- Open (arrow out of a box): opens a PDF in the viewer's PDF pane, a CSV, TSV or XLSX as a table, and a CAD file in the viewer itself.
- Download: saves the file. It shows only when you may download it (on a shared model, when the share allows downloads).
- Delete (bin): removes the document after asking you to confirm. Only the owner sees it.
Part Number and Description
In Properties, in the Model section, you can type a Part Number (up to 64 characters) and a Description (up to 255). If a STEP file carries product data, empty boxes fill from it. They show under the model name in your list.
Downloads
File, Download <EXT> file (for example, Download STEP file) saves the original file. Download edited STEP saves your edits. It shows only while modeling is open.
