Referrals

Your referral link looks like stepfile.com/@name. Anyone who makes an account after following it counts as your referral.

Your Link

The referral card on your account page shows your link with a Copy button. Your referral name starts as your handle. Type another name and the box checks whether it is free. Click Save name to keep it. Names someone else holds, reserved names and lookalikes are refused. Changes to a name can be limited for a while.

Storage Bonus

You earn extra storage for each referral, up to a total. The amounts are set by the site and shown on your account page. A paying account earns more per referral than a Free one. The bonus is added once the new account has:

• confirmed its email
• uploaded a model of its own
• reached the minimum account age set by the site (7 days to begin with)

Paying Referrals

When someone you referred becomes a paying customer, you earn account credit equal to their first payment. It is paid after a hold period, and not at all if that payment is refunded. Credit appears as "Referral credit" on your next invoices.

Checks

Throwaway email domains are refused. A referral from the same IP address or browser as yours is held for staff to review.

Sharing a Model

When someone opens a model you shared and then creates an account, you are credited too.
