Theme
Theme sets whether the whole viewer, its ribbon, panels and 3D background, is light or dark.
How to Start It
Click Theme on the View tab of the ribbon, in the Scene group beside Scene.
The Choices
- Light: a light screen.
- Dark: a dark screen.
- System: follows your computer. When your computer switches between light and dark, the viewer switches with it.
Step by Step
- Click Theme. A small window lists the three choices, with the current one lit.
- Click one. The viewer changes at once and the window closes.
- To close the window without choosing, click the X in its corner, press Esc, or click anywhere else.
What Changes With It
- The background of the 3D view follows the theme while the Scene Background color is on Auto, which is the starting choice. A background color you pick yourself stays as picked. See Scene.
- The line color follows the theme too while it is on Auto.
- The view cube turns white on a light background so it still reads.
Where It Is Remembered
The choice is kept in your browser. Signed in, it is also saved to your account, so it follows you to another computer.
Tips and Common Problems
- The page looks dark on my phone at night. You are on System and your phone is in dark mode. Pick Light or Dark to override it.
- My background did not change. You picked a background color in Scene. Pick Auto there to follow the theme again.
