Undo and Redo
Where to Find Them
Undo and Redo sit beside File on the ribbon, available from any tab, not only while modeling. They stay disabled (greyed out) when there is nothing to undo or redo, and disabled while the model is busy computing a step.
Keyboard
Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) undoes; Ctrl+Y, or Ctrl+Shift+Z (Cmd+Shift+Z), redoes. These work anywhere except while typing in a text box.
What Gets Undone
Undo covers two layers:
- Feature steps: an Extrude, Cut, Round, Hole, and so on, up to the last several dozen steps, whether modeling is currently open or not
- Sketch edits: while a sketch is open, drawing, moving, resizing, or deleting a piece, and adding or removing a relation, each undo individually before falling back to undoing the last feature step
Because both layers are covered from one button, Undo pressed repeatedly first walks back through a sketch's own edits, then through the feature steps built before it.
Undo Entity
Inside the Edit flyout on the Sketch tab, Undo entity undoes only the most recent sketch entity (a single line, circle, or shape) without touching anything else, a narrower option than the general Undo button.
