Sharing a Model

Save the model first. Then click Share (or choose File, Share, Share this model). The window is called Share This Model.

Who It Goes To

Signed-in users pick one:

  • Everyone: one link anyone can open.
  • An individual: type an email and an optional name. Use + Add another recipient for more.
  • A group: pick one of your groups.

The main button reads Create link, Create and send or Share, depending on your choice. After you make an Everyone link you can send it by email or use Copy link.

What Recipients May Do

Under Recipient may, tick Allow all or choose:

  • Download / Re-share
  • Measuring tools
  • Attachments
  • Comments
  • Exports (DXF, STEP, STL): off until you tick it

Without Comments, a recipient cannot use the Discussion. You can remove anyone's note from your own model.

Expiry and Password

Expires (days, blank = max) sets how long the link lasts. Your plan sets the longest time. On plans that allow it, a password field also appears.

Managing Shares

The Share menu lists Shared with. Each row shows who has it (or "Anyone with the link"), the views and the days left.

  • The refresh arrow updates the link to the current saved state. Until you press it, a link shows the version you shared.
  • The X revokes the link.

The Embed Tab

On Pro, Pro Plus and Pro Max, the Share window has two tabs at the top: Share and Embed. Share works as described above. Embed puts the model on your own website, without leaving the window:

  1. Save the model, then click Share.
  2. Click the Embed tab.
  3. Click Publish this model. Your browser makes a light 3D copy of the model with a picture.
  4. Under Websites that may show it, one per line, type each site, like www.example.com.
  5. Choose the Background and the other options. A preview shows the result.
  6. Under Code options, choose the Size, Starting view and whether visitors can use Measure. The code in the box changes as you choose.
  7. Click Copy code and paste it into your web page.

Each tab keeps what you did while the window is open. The window opens on Share each time. The code options are Size (a preset or your own width and height, fixed or responsive), Starting view (As published, Isometric, Front, Top, Right or Current view) and Visitors can use Measure. More about the options is on Embedding a Model on Your Website. On Free and Advanced there is no Embed tab.

What the Visitor Sees

Opening, turning and hiding parts is free for everyone. Isolating a part and exporting a part or face depend on your plan and on the Exports box. The sender needs the Advanced plan or higher. Without it a visitor sees "The owner of this model has not allowed exports." Your plan sets how many live links you can have.
