Your Account: Settings

The Settings tab on your account page holds your details, your public handle, how the site looks, what new shares allow, and the way to delete your account. It is not the same as the Settings window inside the viewer. For that, see Settings.

When to Use It

  • Change your name, email, phone or address
  • Reset your password
  • Change the handle that appears in your share links
  • Switch between light and dark
  • Choose what a new share allows before you even open the Share window
  • Delete your account

Step by Step: Change Your Details

  1. Open your account page and click the Settings tab.
  2. Under Account settings, change First name, Last name, Display name, Email, Phone or the address fields.
  3. Click Save changes.
  4. For a new password, click Change password. It sends you to the password reset page.

Public Handle

Your handle is the name in your share links and in "Shared by" lines. It is not your sign-in, which is still your email.

  1. Under Public handle, read the warning. Changing the handle deletes all of your shares at once, and every link you ever sent stops working. The count of your active shares is shown.
  2. Type the New handle (letters, numbers and hyphens) and type it again to confirm.
  3. Click Change handle and delete my shares, then confirm.
  4. After a change, the handle is locked for a while. The page shows the date you can change it again.

Appearance

Under Appearance, pick Light, Dark or System. System follows your device. The choice saves as soon as you press it and applies to the site and the viewer. See also Theme.

Sharing Defaults

Under Sharing defaults, tick what a new share allows when the Share window opens: Download / Re-share, Measuring tools, Attachments, Comments and Exports (DXF, STEP, STL). You can also set a default expiry in days. Blank or 0 means your account maximum. Click Save sharing defaults.

These settings only fill in the Share window to start with. You can still change anything per share, and shares you already made never change. See Sharing a Model.

Terms of Service

When you have accepted terms, a Terms of Service card lists each version you accepted and the date, with a link to read it.

Delete My Account

  1. At the bottom, click Delete my account.
  2. Read the warning. You are signed out, every share link goes off, and any paid plan stops renewing. Your models are kept on hold for a while, then removed.
  3. Type DELETE in capitals and click Yes, close my account. A page confirms the account is closed.

Tips and Common Problems

  • I cannot change my handle. It was changed recently. The page shows when it unlocks.
  • A request for a reserved name. Ask on the Support tab or the contact form. If it is approved, the page shows your approved handle to enter.
  • Dark mode did not follow my device. Pick System rather than Light or Dark.
  • The Delete button does nothing. The confirm box must read DELETE in capitals.
  • Cancel a paid plan from the Billing tab first. See Plans and Billing.
