Model Tree: Suppress, Roll Back and Reorder
Right-click a step in the Model panel to turn it off for a while, see the part as it was earlier, change the order of the steps or delete one. These are Pro features.

Step by Step: Suppress a Step
- Right-click the step and choose Suppress.
- The part rebuilds without it. Its row is dimmed. Any step built on it, such as a pattern or a mirror of it, is suppressed too. The message lists them.
- Right-click it and choose Unsuppress to bring it back.
Step by Step: Roll Back
- Drag the blue bar up the list, or right-click a step and choose Roll Back to Here. You can also click the bar and press Up or Down.
- The part shows as it was at that point. The steps below the bar stay in the list but are dimmed and not built.
- A new step you make goes in at the bar.
- Drag the bar to the bottom, or choose Roll to End, to build everything again.
While the part is rolled back, Move Up, Move Down and Undo are blocked until you roll to the end.
Step by Step: Reorder Steps
- Drag a step to a new place in the list. A green line shows where it can go. A red mark means it cannot go there, and hovering over the row tells you why.
- Or right-click and choose Move Up or Move Down.
- The part rebuilds in the new order. If the new order cannot build, the old order comes back and a message says which step is in the way.
Step by Step: Delete a Step
- Right-click the step and choose Delete, or select it and press Del.
- A box asks "Delete (step name)?" It lists the sketch that goes with it and any steps built on it that will be deleted too. If nothing depends on it, it says "Nothing else is built on it."
- Click Delete. Click Cancel to keep it.
- Undo brings everything back.
Picking Several Steps
Hold Ctrl (or Cmd) and click steps to add them to a selection. Click one again to take it out. The picked steps stay lit. This is how you choose which features to copy with Mirror.
Tips
- Suppress is the quick way to test a part without a feature. It is easier to undo than a delete.
- Roll back to look at the part before a round or a shell without losing either one.
- A step cannot move above a step it repeats or mirrors. Rows made from another step, such as a pattern, always stay below their source.
- Each change shows a message with an Undo button for eight seconds.
If Something Goes Wrong
- "Roll to End first (drag the blue bar to the bottom), then move the step."
- "<Pattern> repeats <Step>, so it can't come before it." or "<Mirror> mirrors <Step>, so ..." Move the source first.
- "<Step> is built on <Other>, so it can't come before it."
- "That order doesn't build:" followed by the reason.
- "Drag the blue rollback bar to the bottom of the Model tree first (or right-click a step, Roll to End)." Undo is blocked while rolled back.
- "Rolled back: steps below the blue bar are kept but not built. A new step goes in at the bar." This is the normal message after a roll back.
- "An older version is showing. Go back to the current one to change a step."
