File, Versions
The Versions submenu in the File menu shows every version of the model you have open, and lets you view any of them.
Where It Is
Click File. When the model has older versions, a Versions heading appears with a list under it. With only one version, there is no list. The Files panel on the right rail (the Files button) lists the same versions.
Step by Step: View an Older Version
- Click File, point to Versions (or click it), then pick a version in its list.
- It opens read-only. Its own measurements and notes belong to it.
- To come back, click File, then Versions, and pick the one marked (current), the newest.
What the Labels Mean
- (current) is the newest version and the one you can change.
- (modeling base) is the file your modeling edits were built on.
- (Added by AI) or (Made with AI) tells you a connected assistant made that version. Only you see it, never a person you share with.
Tips and Common Problems
- I cannot save. Autosave is off while an older version is on screen, Save as is refused, and Upload a new version says to switch back first. Pick the current version first.
- Where do I add one? See File, Upload a new version. While modeling is open, Create new version (keep the old one) in the File menu saves a snapshot of your modeling.
- In your account list, right-click a model and choose Open version to open one directly.
