Billing: Cancel or Keep Your Plan
You can stop your subscription from the Billing tab at any time. Cancelling does not end your plan today. You keep what you paid for until the end of the current month, then the account moves to Free. Changed your mind? Keep my plan undoes it.
Step by Step: Cancel
- Open your account page and click the Billing tab.
- Click Cancel subscription at the foot of the Billing card. It shows on an active plan.
- A box explains what happens. Read it.
- Click Yes, cancel at the end of this month.
- The page returns with Cancelled. and the date your plan stays on until. You will not be charged again.
What Happens
- All future charges stop.
- Your plan stays on until the day your current month ends. The Status row reads Cancelled. with that date.
- Then the account moves to Free.
- Stored content above the Free limits is removed after a grace period, unless you come back. Download what you need first.
Step by Step: Keep Your Plan
- While the Status row says Cancelled., open the Billing tab.
- Click Keep my plan. It says Undo the cancellation; your plan renews on the date, as usual.
- The page returns with Your plan continues and renews on that date.
You can undo the cancellation any time before the date shown.
Tips
- Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. The Billing tab shows your Renews on date.
- You keep the plan you paid for until the end of the month.
- You can start again later from the Billing tab. See Billing: Subscribe to a Plan.
- To remove your whole account, cancel here first, then see Your Account: Settings.
If Something Goes Wrong
- I do not see Cancel subscription. It shows only on an active plan. If the Status row says Payment failed, fix the card first. See Billing: Cards.
- "There is no subscription on this account." There is nothing to cancel. A plan given to you by the STEPFILE.com team has no charge to stop.
- I cancelled by mistake. Click Keep my plan before the date shown.
