Marks
Marks are the things you put on top of the model that are not part of the model: kept measurements and note pins. You can hide them to see the part clearly and show them again. Hiding deletes nothing.
The Four Controls
| Control | Where | What it hides |
|---|---|---|
| Marks | View tab, Show group | All marks: measurements and notes together |
| Hide All | Measure tab, Marks group | Measurements only |
| Hide Pins | Documents tab, Notes group | Notes only: it folds each note down to its pin |
| The eye | Top strip, right side (on a wide screen) | All marks, the same as Marks |
On a phone the eye is not on the strip, and Marks on the View tab does its job. See Phone and Tablet.
Step by Step: Look at the Part Without the Marks
- Measure a few things and keep them. See Measuring.
- Click Marks on the View tab. A message says All marks hidden. The measurements vanish and the notes fold down to pins.
- Click Marks again. A message says All marks shown.
Step by Step: Hide Only the Measurements
- Click the Measure tab.
- Click Hide All. A message says Measurements hidden. Notes are left alone.
- The button stays lit while measurements are hidden. Click it again to show them. With no kept measurements, a message says so and nothing changes.
Step by Step: Fold the Notes
- Click the Notes tab.
- Click Hide Pins. Every note bubble folds down to its pin on the model. A message says Notes folded to pins.
- Click it again to open the bubbles. See Notes and Sharing.
Clear All
Clear All on the Measure tab deletes every kept measurement. Unlike Hide All, the measurements are removed rather than hidden. To remove just one, use the delete button on that measurement. A note is deleted from its own bubble or the Notes panel.
Tips and Common Problems
- A message says "No marks yet". The eye and Marks need at least one measurement or note.
- A message says "No measurements kept yet". Hide All needs a kept measurement.
- Marks are view only. Hiding them changes nothing in the model.

Clear My Marks
Clear my marks deletes every measurement you have kept on the model, in one click. Use it to start over with a clean part. It does not change the model itself.
Where It Is
- Clear All on the Measure tab. (It was Clear my marks in the File menu before the File menu held only file actions.)
Step by Step
- Click the Measure tab, then Clear All.
- Every kept measurement is removed at once, along with any measurement you had started but not finished. The menu closes.
- If a measuring tool is armed, its prompt comes back so you can measure again right away.
What It Removes and What It Leaves
| Item | After Clear my marks |
|---|---|
| Kept measurements and their numbered pills | Removed |
| A measurement in progress | Removed |
| Notes and note pins | Left alone |
| The model, its parts and its colors | Left alone |
Tips
- There is no confirmation question and no message. The measurements are simply gone, so use it when you mean it.
- To keep your measurements but see the model clean, use Hide All instead. It only hides them. See Marks.
- To remove a single measurement, use Delete on its pill. See Kept Measurements.
- Notes are deleted from their own bubble or the Notes panel. See Notes and Sharing.
If Something Goes Wrong
- Nothing seems to happen. There were no kept measurements to clear. Notes are not touched.
- I cleared by mistake. There is no undo for this. Take the measurements again with the tools on the Measuring page.
