The Desktop Add-In

The desktop add-in is a separate Windows program. It adds STEPFILE.com to a desktop CAD program and sends models from your computer to your account. Ask support for the current download.

Connecting

The add-in opens a browser page asking you to connect your computer to your account. Sign in if asked, read the list, and click Allow or Cancel.

What It Can Do

The Allow page lists what the add-in may do. In general it can:

• Upload models and new versions to your saved models
• Read your folder list and create folders
• Read your plan and storage
• Share a model it just saved

It cannot see your password, email or billing. If your email is not confirmed yet, uploads are refused until you confirm it.

Managing Computers

Each connected computer is listed on Account, Connected Apps with a Disconnect button. Disconnect any you no longer use or do not recognize. The add-in must connect again afterwards.
