Isolate and Show All Components
Isolate hides every other component so you can look at one part. Show All Components brings everything back. Hiding and showing is free on a file opened from STEP. Isolate needs the Advanced plan or higher.
When to Use It
- Look at one part without the others in the way
- Check how a part is mated by hiding the rest
- Bring back everything you hid
Step by Step: Isolate
- Right-click a component in the Model tree (or in the view).
- Choose Isolate. Every other component is hidden. The one you picked stays as it is, and is shown if it was hidden.
- Look at the part. Rotate and zoom as usual.
Step by Step: Show Everything Again
- Right-click the assembly row at the top of the Model tree (for a file opened from STEP, right-click Components).
- Choose Show All Components.
Or click the small eye on each hidden row to show them one by one.
Options
| Item | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Isolate | Right-click a component, a subassembly or a pattern copy | Grayed when the assembly has fewer than 2 components. Needs the Advanced plan or higher. |
| Show All Components | Right-click the assembly row, or Components in a STEP file's tree | Grayed when nothing is hidden. |
| Hide / Show | Right-click a component, or the small eye | Hides or shows just that one. |
Tips
- In an assembly you build here, hiding, showing and Isolate all need the Pro plan, like any change to an assembly. On a file opened from STEP, hiding and showing work on any plan and only Isolate needs Advanced.
- Which components are hidden is saved with a saved assembly, and with a model opened from STEP.
- Isolating a subassembly shows only the parts inside it.
- Hidden parts are still in the Bill of Materials and are still written by File, Export, Assembly as STEP.
If Something Goes Wrong
- "Isolate a part on the Advanced plan or higher." The item is shown but needs a higher plan. See Plans and Billing.
- Isolate is grayed. The assembly has only one component.
- Show All Components is grayed. Nothing is hidden.
- "Assemblies are on the Pro plan." Changing the display of an assembly you built needs Pro.
