Notes and Sharing
Notes Panel
Open it from the right rail (Notes) or the Documents tab of the ribbon (Notes). It has three tabs:
- Notes: a private text pad for this model. It autosaves a moment after you stop typing. The model must be saved to your account first.
- Discussion (see Discussion): a shared thread that anyone with access to the model can read and add to.
- Pins: a list of every note pin on the model, with its text, who left it, when, and whether it is shared. Click Show to bring a pin into view. The list is read-only.
Pinning a Note on the Model
On the Documents tab, click Pin a Note (see Note), then click a spot on the model. Note mode stays on, so each further click adds another note, until you click Pin a Note again. A small bubble opens for the text. The pin stays on that exact spot, with a leader line to the bubble. Drag the bubble to move the text without moving the pin.
Hiding Pins
Hide Pins on the Documents tab hides every pin bubble at once. Nothing is deleted.
Opening Notes While Modeling
Opening Notes while modeling is open sets modeling aside. Your edits and open sketch are kept. Go back to Sketch, Features or Fabrication to carry on.
Sharing
Click Share on the strip, or choose File, Share, Share this model. Choose Everyone for one link anyone can open, An individual to email a link, or A group. Tick what the recipient may do: Download / Re-share, Measuring tools, Attachments, Comments and Exports (DXF, STEP, STL). The model must be saved first. The Sharing a Model page covers passwords, expiry and the Shared with list.
What a Share Allows on Parts
Opening, viewing, and showing or hiding parts is free for everyone. Isolating a part and exporting a part or face follow the sender's plan, so recipients never pay. The sender needs the Advanced plan or higher. Exports also need the Exports box ticked on that share. It is off unless the sender turns it on.
